Bye Jade...

It's mothers day today. My Mum bought herself a necklace and I paid £15 towards it, I love my Mum, all I have to do is donate some money towards stuff she buys herself for occassions like this. Oh, Jade Goody died today, as soon as I found out I said "Good.", which might sound really really harsh, but seriously, who else is sick of hearing about her on every TV show and seing her face on every front page of every fucking magazine. She got famous by being racist, looks like Karma got you quite bad. Don't get me wrong, death is a horrible thing, along with cancer, but she just used the media to exploit the fact she has cancer, she's not the only one with cancer... Just because she's a "celebrity" it gets multiplied by the media, and everyone pours their heart out to her, but no, she's not getting my sympathy. I'm glad all of this is over, hate on me if you want, I couldn't care less. Freedom of speach, right?

  1. i agree with you that the media blew the issue up, but because shes a celebrity she is in the public eye and therefore the media has to let the public know. =/

  3. Okay so she earned millions for her kids right?
What about cancer research? Macmillan? etc etc, couldn't she have given a couple of quid to them? to the people that helped her?
    psssh.

  4. I think Jade was quite clever about the whole affair, being someone who has had a parent die from cancer I think she did well to realise that she needed to leave her children something (especially considering her husband will probably be in jail for a few months). Who in her situation wouldn’t have done whatever they could to ensure they could provide for their children after they were gone?
There have also been some positive results of her publicising her cancer, the number of women being screened for cervical cancer has risen dramatically.
However, I do agree that the media go overboard. Another classic example is the Jonathan Ross, Russell Brand and Andrew Sachs affair. It’s something that annoys me immensely. They hated Jade whilst she was alive, especially after the public outrage over her racist comments (although personally I think she was too ignorant to even realise that what was she was saying could be considered as racist let alone actually be intentionally racist) and now that she is dead they cannot sing her praises loud enough. This kind of behaviour makes me sick to my stomach, the papers are fickle and the public even fickler. They made her life hell whislt she was alive and now they're feeling guilty?

I would love to be a journalist or writer but in a world where the medias only intention seems to be to provoke mass hysteria I’m beginning to wonder if it is the job for me! You either like someone or you don’t, your opinion doesn’t change because they are dead.
