I've only just noticed how long this post is, so I excuse you if you don't read this. I'll post another one later anyway ;)
Today opened my eyes. Well, my eyes were already open, but today just made me realise some stuff.
In group tutorial we had some performers come in and talk about confidence, body language, etc. There was a magician (Lee), a hypnotist(James), and someone else, who did a bit of everything (Tai). One of the first things Tai asked us was if anybodys looked into any other religions, like Buddhism, he then continued to tell us that the Buddhists have a saying; Your thoughts create your reality. Which is so true. If you was to walk down the street thinking everybody hates you, they're staring, nobody likes you, etc. you're going to believe that, you're going to start noticing people stare at you, and stuff. I don't care about what people think about me, my thoughts are pretty neutral when it comes to the outside world, probably the reason I don't get into trouble.
James started us off by talking to us, about confidence, and imagination. He then started doing some hynotism on us, he made us put our hands together, index fingers pointing out, about 2 cm apart, then told us to imagine a magnet pulling our fingers together. For those who it worked on, he bought forward, put our hands out, and make us imagine theres a force pushing our hands together, or theres a magnet inside. My fingers went together insanely quick, and so did my hands. So did Darcy's, so he picked me and Darcy out and asked us which one would want to participate in this trick, I let Darcy do it. He then gave Darcy a card with a + on it, told him to focus on it and then imagine dropping it, then told Darcy to pull his fingertips away so it eventually drops, it took a while but it happened. He then told Darcy to name a card, he named the 5 of hearts, James reached into his pocket, pulled out a pack of cards, went through them and found one upside down. It was the 5 of hearts.
Then Lee started doing some tricks with us, they were card tricks, but they were really good. He showed did some standard "pick a card" tricks, none that really stood out, but he was still good. He made cards jump through the deck and stuff. At the end he also made someone write their name on a card, and make it jump through the deck, even with the card bent so he can prove he's not moving it by himself. He talked about confidence with audiences, saying how he was really nervous when he started performing, now he's just friendly with anyone whoever wants to see anything interesting, which made me think about when I first started doing some Drama productions. He also told us about making mistakes, and how we should just pick it back up where we left it and carry on doing it, 'cause you learn from your mistakes and all that jazz.
Finally, Tai started doing some stuff, it was with star signs, he gave me 12 cards with star signs written on them, and told me to pick out whatever one mine was and don't tell him what it was, obviously. So I picked out cancer and put it in my hand, gave him back the cards. He then asked Darcy to think of his star sign for a minute, then asked some other kid (I don't know his name...) to think of his star sign. He went back to Darcy and told him to imagine the physical object of his star sign, so if it was Cancer it would be a crab. After that he attempted to decipher what we were. He went to my straight away and just said "you're Cancer." he was right, he went to darcy and said imagine what his star sign would eat, so if it was Pisce's it'll be fish food, or whatever. He then told him that he was a Libra, he was right. He then looked at the other kid, put his hand out and said "you're a Libra too." he was right again. He went on telling us about the way you act will make someone think you're something, for example, I would of called him a magician, the trick he did on me, the other one was a mind reader, and something else, my memorys not too good. He finished his performance by making people take some pennies out of a bag and interrogating them to find out what they had, he was right on all three cases, obviously.
Oh, and James finished it all with a really sick trick. He got Haidi and Daniel to stand up and face each other, Haidi wrote a time on a card, folded it up and put it in his hand. James then gave Daniel his watch and told him to change the time to whenever he said stop, with it face down. He then wrote a time on a piece of paper. Made Daniel start changing the time, and then said stop. Showed Haidi the card, which read 3:57 p.m, unfolded Haidi's card which also said 3:57 p.m, turned the watch around in Daniels hand, and that was at 3:57 p.m aswell.
But it wasn't the magic that opened my eyes, obviously, it was what they were telling us, about confidence, inner thoughts, dealing with situations, and stuff. It was an eye opener, as I've said a few times before haha.
Overall I had a alright day, but I'm doing nothing tonight. I'll probably go out with Darron as always, seing as its nice out. I forgot to put deodrant on this morning, silly Josh. But at least I caught up with The Inbetweeners, and nobody noticed my stench anyway. I didn't even notice until I smelled myself on the bus ;) haha, skank. Thats it for now, I might go and catch up on Robin Hood and then Family Guy, I only watched two episodes of Family Guy the other night before falling asleep. Stay safe.
